Vladimir Putin Reacted To Greta Thunberg's UN Speech : Sarcastically Criticises Her
16 year old teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg gave an electrifying speech famously quoted as "How dare You" at the United Nations. The speech was in regards with the global climatic changes.
Thunberg mentioned at U.N. conference: "This is all wrong. I shouldn't be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean yet you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you?"
"You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words," she added.
Greta attacked world leader's for failing to counter climate changes across the globe. Thunberg stated that she is sharing the feelings felt by millions like her.
She skips her school every Fridays for protesting against climate changes and other environmental issues. As per Greta, situational awareness regarding environment is vital.
She has been inivited by various bureaucrats and politicians of certain countries to deliver a speech.
Although, The Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in an energy forum that he did not share the common excitement about her speech at the United Nations last month. He went to saying , "No one has told Greta that the modern world is complex and different and.. people in Africa or in many Asian countries want to live at the same wealth level as in Sweden."
"Go and explain to developing countries why they should continue living in poverty and not be like Sweden," Putin stated.
US President Trump and Canadian MP Maxime Bernier also mocked Thunberg. She responded by claiming her message has become "too loud to handle".
Putin stated young people who are aware of environmental issues should be supported but he also added, "When someone is using children and teenagers in personal interest, it only deserves to be condemned.I'm sure that Greta is a kind and very sincere girl. But adults must do everything not to bring teenagers and children into some extreme situations."
Millions of people are gathering on the streets around the globe to demand governments take emergency action on climate change. Governments will do what they have to but we need to initiate tackling environmental issues at a very basic level too by planting more trees and using less pollutants. Also, keeping our surroundings clean.
